Abstract
|
|
|
Proliferation of histiocytes and hemophagocytosis could be occur in some bacterial or
viral infections, so it is called by benign hemophagocytic syndrome(BHS) due to it's
non-malignant histologic features. But in some cases, BHS is rapidly fatal without
evidence of infections and simulate HMR clinically, so make it difficult to manage and
treatment. In BHS, we think it is mandatory to reexamine the bone marrow study and
do hybridization technique for the viral infections in seronegative group to exclude the
possibility of secondary phenomenon. We experienced a fatal case of massive systemic
proliferation of mature histiocytes with hemophagocytosis without evidence of infections,
so repeat it with review of literatures.
